Sport in Cologne
In addition to the cathedral, we in Cologne also have a true love for our associations. Especially in the sports field we are celebrating the 1. FC Köln and our Cologne sharks.
Kölner Haie
For more than 40 years now, our Cologne sharks have repeatedly shot the Puk into the opponent's goal, because our ice hockey team is very successful and we were even able to host the Ice Hockey World Championship in Cologne in 2017. If the sharks have a home game, then it will be freezing cold in the LANXESSarena and all fans cheer for the sharks.
1st FC Cologne
On the other hand, it will be held in the home stadium of the 1. FC Köln never cold, it is only dipped into the colours red & white on a regular basis. At home games the mascot, the Geisbock Hennes (now the VIII.) will also be playing. from the Cologne Zoo to the stadium. The tradition must simply be continued, because it is not for nothing that the club became German football champion in 1962,1964 and 1978.

Where the 1. FC Köln is at home - his home stadium is the RheinEnergieStadium in Junkersdorf. However, not only exciting football matches take place here, you can also rent the stadium for events for up to 50,000 guests. There is also a varied programme of other events in the stadium every year, such as the air-light tours you can take part in.
